Running Challenge for Ghana.
Wednesday, 12 June 2013
So it begins...
So, I have signed up for a 10K Cross Country run to raise money for RHF, the charity I work with in Ghana. A silly idea? Yes. A challenge? Definitely.
Before I was pregnant with and had Ethan I was a casual runner for fitness but I have never been a sporty type. At school I was more likely to be seen with my nose in a book or rehearsing in the Music department. Nothing much has changed. Hence the challenge.
When I started planning an event to raise money for building the orphanage in Santrokofi, Ghana I wanted it to be something which will take hard work. This is definitely going to be hard work! I have been out running since I booked myself up and at the moment can manage just over 5K, which considering it is over 18 months since my last one isn't too bad.
At the moment I am getting through just over 5K in 37 minutes. Not that bad really! Still a long way to go though but at least I know it is all for a more than worthwhile cause.
